Samsung has just unveiled the pricing for its 2025 OLED TV lineup, and the news is nothing short of exciting for TV enthusiasts. The new series, which includes the S95F, S90F, and S85F models, not only promises enhanced features but also comes at prices that undercut those of its main competitor, LG.

Enhanced AI Features and User Experience

The 2025 Samsung OLED TVs are packed with advanced AI features designed to elevate the viewing experience. One of the standout features is “Click to Search” and “Live Translate,” which can translate foreign language live programming in real-time. Additionally, these TVs support profiles for all family members and are eligible for up to seven years of software updates, ensuring that apps remain up-to-date and functional over time.

For those with a Galaxy Watch, Samsung has integrated “Universal Gestures,” allowing users to control their TVs by rotating the watch bezel to scroll or making a fist to go back. This seamless integration enhances the overall user experience, making it more convenient and interactive.

Samsung S95F: The Flagship Model

The Samsung S95F series replaces last year’s CNET Editor’s Choice for picture quality, the S95D. This new flagship boasts Samsung’s brightest-ever OLED screen, along with glare-free technology that outperforms its predecessor. The S95F is the only OLED TV to feature this advanced coating, and it also includes 165Hz motion for gaming, making it a top choice for gamers.

Pricing for the S95F

  • 55-inch S95F: $2,299
  • 65-inch S95F: $3,299
  • 77-inch S95F: $4,499
  • 83-inch S95F: Available later in the year

Samsung S90F: The Mid-Range Powerhouse

The S90F OLED series offers a balance of performance and affordability. It includes AI Motion Enhancer Pro and a Motion Xcelerator 144Hz mode, which is particularly beneficial for PC gaming.

Pricing for the S90F

  • 42-inch S90F: $1,399
  • 48-inch S90F: $1,599
  • 55-inch S90F: $1,999
  • 65-inch S90F: $2,699
  • 77-inch S90F: $3,699
  • 83-inch S90F: $5,399

Samsung S85F: The Entry-Level Option

The S85F is Samsung’s entry-level OLED TV, available in sizes starting from 55 inches. While it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles of the higher models, it still offers excellent picture quality and AI-driven features.

Pricing for the S85F

  • 55-inch S85F: $1,499
  • 65-inch S85F: $1,999
  • 77-inch S85F: $2,999
  • 83-inch S85F: Pricing not yet announced

Competitive Pricing: A Challenge to LG

Samsung’s pricing strategy is a clear challenge to LG’s dominance in the OLED TV market. The S95F is cheaper than LG’s G5 by around $1-200 across the 55 and 65-inch models, and the S90F is similarly priced lower than LG’s C5 across most sizes. This aggressive pricing could prompt LG to reconsider its own pricing, ultimately benefiting consumers.

Additional Offerings: The Frame Pro and Soundbar

In addition to the OLED TVs, Samsung has also revealed pricing for its 2025 The Frame Pro series, which now includes a mini-LED backlight and the innovative ‘Zero One Connect Wireless Box’ for seamless connectivity. The prices are as follows:

The Frame Pro

  • 65-inch: $2,199
  • 77-inch: $3,199
  • 83-inch: $4,299

Samsung has also announced the QS700F soundbar, a 3.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos model, priced at $699.99.

The Shadow of Panel Uncertainty

While Samsung’s pricing is attractive, there is a lingering uncertainty about the display panels used in the S90F series. Unlike the S95F, which clearly uses LG’s four-stack panel, the S90F series may use different panel types depending on the size, which could impact performance consistency. This lack of clarity might affect the perceived value of the S90F models.

Conclusion: A Win for Consumers

Samsung’s decision to undercut LG’s prices is a significant move that could reshape the OLED TV market. With advanced features, competitive pricing, and ongoing support through software updates, Samsung’s 2025 OLED TV lineup looks set to be a strong contender. As the market evolves, it will be interesting to see how LG responds and whether this pricing war will drive innovation and better deals for consumers. One thing is certain: TV buyers are in for a treat in 2025.
